Our client seeks a Senior Network Engineer to join their team. This role exists due to some immediate project work currently available; therefore a requirement exists to bring on an extra resource to assist with the additional workload.
The purpose of the 'Senior Network Engineer' role is to operate, integrate, maintain and support the data network infrastructure for various enterprise clients. The role will be part of the 'data and voice communication service line' and includes
- Implementation of new hardware, software and services
- Operation, maintenance and support
- Documentation and administration
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
- Provide consultancy and technical support to business units
Troubleshoot and rectify service issues in regards to network infrastructure in regards to accordance to agreed service levels - Support the business in presales assignments across SDN \ Cloud, Linux, VMware
- Implement and maintain data communication network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot, maintain and support data service related hardware, software and applications
- Implement enhancements to existing data infrastructure and liaise with carriers and vendors in regards to outsourced services
Skills and Experience Required:
- Commercial experience working with OpenStack Or Vmware OR VSphere and Lunix
- Extensive technical experience in the daily operational support and implementation of
- Experience and specialist skills in the design, installation/implementation, configuration and maintenance of data communication
- Telecommunication - experience with MPLS Networks, TCIP, Vxlan or GRe
- Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Skills in data network and software (LAN, WAN)
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service and support skills
- Technical skills in network devices (router, switches, wireless access points)
- Knowledge of Devops - Python (advantage)
