Peoplebank have been exclusively retained to recruit a Senior IT Support Officer (IT Systems Administrator) for one of our Adelaide based clients, on an on-going Permanent basis.

Working in a small, close knit IT team of 3, you will be providing a broad range of IT Support and System Administration duties in both BAU environment as well as on upcoming and current projects.

Working for this community focused company, their offices are based about 20mins North of the Adelaide CBD and you are able to work in a hybrid work pattern, with onsite office work needed, but flexibility to WFH too.

There is a fantastic work culture, with a supportive Senior Manager and close collaboration with the wider business.


Responsibilities include

  • Ensure the performance of local area network (LAN) applications, Wi-Fi network and IT infrastructure are optimised across all sites.
  • Provide IT Support and helpdesk to staff and relevant contractors.
  • Increasing the efficiencies of the Business Information System such as: mapping, documenting workflows and mobility.
  • Working with other departments to enhance their processes via implementing new technologies.
  • Streamlining and integrating systems to increase collaboration, integrate data and improve end user experience.
  • Maintain the functionality and patching of Windows servers and workstations.
  • Supporting network applications and associated network development, and management.
  • Assist with Information Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans as a part of core IT processes and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT Plans.
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of applications and technologies.
  • Monitor and report on IT project outcomes.
  • Support the maintenance and content of the website and intranet.
  • General Audio-Visual support for the associated AudioVisual systems

Skills and Experience required

Note - not everything is required - they will happily train any knowledge gaps, but this is a broad-based IT role, so a broad range of skills is desired (as opposed to deep expertise in just one two areas)

  • Proven experience in IT support, with knowledge of Microsoft applications (Windows 10, Office 365)
  • High level knowledge of MS Server applications (Windows 2003 - 2019)
  • Solid understanding of web and network-based technologies such as VLANS
  • Experience in providing help desk services for end users
  • Ability to communicate effectively on a technical and non-technical level both orally and in writing with internal and external customers
  • Proven experience with backup, anti-virus, application whitelisting and patching solutions
  • Ability to implement solutions for intranet, network and IT security matters
  • Experience with local area networks and associated infrastructure
  • Experience with Firewall administration and configuration (WatchGuard)
  • Experience with VMWare applications such as vSphere/ESXi
  • Knowledge of contemporary cyber security practices (ransomware, malware, trojans etc)

Desirable (bonus skills / experience)

  • Experience with writing and deploying group policies via Active Directory
  • Experience with implementing and managing standard operating environments
  • Experience diagnosing and configuring complex automated Audio-Visual systems
  • Experience with cloud migration (Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and SharePoint)
  • Experience with Sage based products e.g.: Sage 300, Sage CRM, MicroPay and/or ESP
  • Experience with Mitel PABX telephone systems
