About our client: This role is with our esteemed client in the government sector.

Project Overview:

A Senior Business analyst is required to work with a number of diverse stakeholders across the department to document the Corporate Finance Optimisation Project (CFOP) initiation document. The CFOP project is the design and implementation to improve budget and financial management processes across the department.

The department needs a simplified, efficient, integrated financial management system that coordinates planning, budgeting, funding allocation and financial operations in line with Treasury and department needs, the departments Excellence Framework, Local Decisions principles and recommendations of recent reviews of aspects of department's financial management. There are identified issues to be addressed and legacy tools, policies and practices which may be simplified or eliminated by redesign that supports other program installations.

Location: Parramatta

Duration: 6 months rolling

Daily rate: 739 including super

Business Analyst Roles and Responsibilities:
* Understanding business needs as they relate to a potential change or transformation
* Gathering, identifying and documenting business requirements
* Explaining technical jargon to non-technical/commercial teams
* Simplifying requirements, so they are easily understood across the whole team
* Business process modelling and improving business processes
* Identifying costs and business savings
* Implementing, testing and deploying solutions to business problems
* Supporting business transition and helping to establish change
* Creating functional specifications for new systems and processes
* Acting as an advisor to directors and executive teams

Agile/Scrum skills:
* Organising the backlog grooming, brainstorming session between all the project stakeholders in starting of the project
* Creating features based on project inception output and dividing into the User story
* Facilitating the scrum ceremony(sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review, sprint retrospective, and backlog grooming) in team
* Designing the user story and adding wireframes and acceptance criteria in it
* Working with product owner (PO) for user story priority and reprioritize based on PO decision
* Removing impediments raised in daily stand up for the team
* Working with developer and tester for the three-way handshake of user story before and after completing the user story making sure all are in the same page for business requirements
* JIRA Knowledge

Business and System skills (Desirable but not mandatory):
* Finance systems & operations knowledge
* Corporate services knowledge
* SAP HCM, Payroll knowledge
