The Role
- Java development skills (Specifically Java 8) including building with Maven
- Strong database knowledge esp. DB2
- Source control, container, orchestration and automation tools such as Git, Docker, Rancher, Ansible or similar
- Continuous delivery using Jenkins2 & pipeline plugin or similar
- Microservices, a RESTful approach using JSON, AWS Lambda, message queues and modern design patterns
- Testing approaches (unit testing with junit, integration testing with selenium)
- Infrastructure, networking and security
- IaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, Openstack or similar
- Rapid prototyping & service stubbing
Experience
- building enterprise JavaScript solutions preferred
- Experience in helping build team capability, establishing & influencing processes/practices and working well in a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Experience working in agile, lean, devOps & cross functional teams
