Our Federal Government Client is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support and enhance an AWS data and analytics platform.

This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with 2x12 months extension options, located at our Client's Canberra City location.

 

As the selected candidate, you will work as part of a team of data engineers and be able to demonstrate experience with the following technologies:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ability to perform system administration tasks of both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Ability to configure cloud networks like VPC, NAT, Routes, Gateways, Jump hosts.
  • Experience with data infrastructure on AWS - DMS, S3, EMR, Glue, Athena, Sagemaker.
  • Experience in aligning Directory Services in multi-cloud environments - IAM, Active Directory, Azure AD.
  • Experience in structured release processes leveraging CI/CD.
  • Ability to automate and script infrastructure using Ansible.
  • Experience with Jenkins.
  • Experience working with Git.
  • Use of traditional data analytics tools and techniques (e.g. Oracle) and ETL software (e.g. Informatica).
  • Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Elasticsearch)
  • Ability to guide other team members, clients and develop fit-for-purpose solutions and support BAU operations.

 

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Be someone that enjoys working in a tight-knit agile project team engaged in providing data capability and services to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Gave strong knowledge and experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and cloud infrastructure.
  • Have exposure to or experience in security infrastructure configuration and basic security penetration testing.
  • Have solid backend programming experience in a modern scripting language (preferably Python) and experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular/Vue) including the ability to configure Token STS, Message Queue SQS, and SNS services.

 

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian who have the ability to obtain Federal Government Security Clearances.
