Our client is seeking an experienced Security Architect to join their IT team. The team is responsible for providing technical analysis, design and implementation guidance of architecture services for solving infrastructure, security and service management related challenges.

The role:

  • Encourage and drive a culture of technical excellence, co-operation and collaboration across all stakeholders by providing a high level of advice and leadership in relation to solution architecture and solution designs for information security, infrastructure and service management;
  • Partners with business and IT representatives including enterprise architecture, application, infrastructure and security teams in requirements gathering and reviews to produce an optimal, detailed design for the program;
  • Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines enterprise level solutions across cloud and on-premise infrastructure, security and service management to achieve business objectives;
  • Works closely with the Enterprise Architect Technology and Security to ensure compliance with NSWPF EA standards and patterns. Actively participates in design authority and architecture review board forums;
  • Consult with internal staff at all levels to develop and maintain comprehensive and accurate technical documentation and models for new and modified applications;
  • Works closely with vendors to specify and negotiate solutions and to define infrastructure and security requirements;
  • Works closely with the Application, Solution, Integration, Data, API, Legacy Lead Architect
  • Research and present information sessions to Business Stakeholders, as required;
  • Develop, pilot and recommend new architectures to support application requirements leveraging reusable components. Reviews new applications for conformance to existing architectures. Understands and articulates technology strategies and objectives;
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions;
  • Ensure team effectiveness and manage client expectations through timely delivery of program deliverables;
  • Adhere to all NSWPF policies and guidelines including information security;
  • All other tasks as directed by the Program Architect related to delivering / supporting the Program;
  • Agree to participate in security

The candidate:

  • Proven extensive experience as a Security Architect gained across a number of larger organisations (>5,000 users) with complex solution requirements;
  • Aptitude to formulate and articulate solution approach and vision
  • Previously worked within a solution architecture practice area who has defined and implemented complex solution environments
  • TOGAF9 or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in integrating internal Identity management including privileged access management (Administration functions)
  • Experience with controlling and restricting resource groups based on required functions
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Sciences / Information Technology and Management disciplines, or equivalent industry experience
  • Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearances for this position
  • Direct experience in Cyber Security technologies and processes - in any or all of the following domains User, Device, Network & Transport, Systems or Information Security.
  • Experience in designing to ISM based systems at PROTECTED level
  • Experience in designing solutions and deployments using modern approaches including Agile, DevSecOps, SRE, delivered via Outsourced or Inhouse, and operated as "Products" with defined "Service Outcomes" as defined by Service Level Indicators and Objectives
  • Understanding of modern cyber security threats and technologies and processes to mitigate them
  • Ability to architect using the latest cloud innovations including SaaS, PaaS and on-premises technologies with a background in either AWS or Azure services being considered an advantage.
