This senior role is regarded as the technical go to person and will work closely with the infrastructure and development teams. You will have full responsibility for the stability and performance of the SQL Server database environment and your time will be divided between BAU and project work.
Core responsibilities:
- Coordinating, analyzing, designing, implementing and administering SQL Server solutions and integration
- Recommendation of best practices for improvements to current operation processes and procedures
- Recommendation and implementation of database advanced features and configurations to fit development use case and scenario
- Implementing monitoring and tuning best practices to ensure peak application and database performance
- Working with developers to implement best practice into coding standards
- Database server configuration and maintenance
- Troubleshooting of operational problems, including performance and providing root cause analysis with recommendations to prevent recurrence
Ideal experience:
- Enterprise environment Installation, configuration and upgrading of database
- Performance tuning and the design and implementation of various back-up/recovery strategies
- Developing methods of monitoring databases and utilizing monitoring tools to optimize and enhance database performance
- Coding scripts, procedures, functions
- Scripting automation for repetitive tasks, integrations or monitoring
- Design and implementation of highly availability architectures
- Experience with software development methodologies and practices (source control, CI/CD)
- Coding experience with .Net and C#
