Our Federal Government Client is seeking a skilled Project Manager to drive an exciting project to modernise the Department's communicable disease outbreak management and surveillance (CDOS) system. The role will be responsible for providing project management oversight of the development and implementation of a national interoperable communicable disease surveillance and outbreak management system. This system will replace the existing national notifiable disease surveillance system. The project commenced in 2019-20. A team of four including the Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Change Manager and Business and Technical Architect has been established. Project planning, early stakeholder engagement and scoping of requirements has been undertaken as part of the Discovery stage of the project.

This is a long-term contract opportunity for 12 Months with Possible Extension, located at our Client's Woden, Canberra location.

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in successfully planning and delivering a multifaceted government project in a project management role (preferably an IT project)
  • Strategic problem solving skills, including the ability to effectively respond to contentious issues and project risks
  • Strong procurement skills, including a proven ability to appropriately identify and mitigate probity risks
  • Negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively bring together key stakeholders, and consider their differing needs, to deliver on a project

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian Citizens who currently possess or are able to gain Federal Government Security Clearances.
