Progress 8.3 Developer required for 6+ month contract based in Baulkham Hills.
Skills Required:
- 3 + years commercial software development experience in Progress 8.3 both character and gui in a retail environment.
- Participate in resolving defects found in testing, delivery and deployment phases
- Ability to understand, maintain and enhance progress 8.3 database.
- Well-developed problem solving skills to rapidly find solutions to high-priority business issues
- Good business analysis skills to fully understand and help define business requirements
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting skill to address high severity issue from production.
- Able to provide 3rd level support outside of normal business hours (Support calls for the team would not exceed 4 calls per month outside of business hours on Monday to Friday)
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with the business and IT stakeholders.
- An ability to work effectively as part of a team/team player
- Strong Customer Service Focus
- Strong documentation skills to create meaningful specifications, test documentation and technical documentation to ensure all work is fully supportable
In addition to the above;
- Good exposure to Agile development methodologies (esp. Scrum) would be an advantage.
- Previous exposure or experience in a production industry would be an advantage
