The role:

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee and provide recommendations regarding the prioritisation of initiatives within the portfolio
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a range of portfolio analysis tools and dashboards
  • Assist in the development and management of the process of reporting against business planning requirements, including organisation-wide reporting of resource requirements
  • Analyse the portfolio and make recommendations on the mix to balance/optimise strategic goal attainment, resourcing, capability and business as usual priorities
  • Evaluate and help to implement process improvements to improve portfolio and pipeline workflow and more effective delivery
  • Lead and assist in providing gated project reviews
  • Review reporting of all mandated aspects of control including risks, budget, schedule variations, achievement of milestones and project deliverables, whilst actively managing risks across the portfolio



Key Performance Indicators

  • Production forecast - maintain the detailed monthly rolling forecast ensuring Client deliverable timelines are delivered within 95% of forecast
  • Stakeholder engagement remains very high as rated by various stakeholders



Qualifications and skills required:

Essential

  • Simulations and forecasting experience is essential. Our client is flexible on which products, any mainstream forecasting tool would be fine.
  • Strong experience monitoring and analysing projects and at a portfolio level
  • Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Project Online Premium in a Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Coordinator capacity - a certification would be viewed favourably (E.g. Managing Successful Program (MSP), Portfolio Management etc)
  • Experience in resource forecasting across a large portfolio or program
  • Experience in supporting Portfolio Management Office (PMO) activities, including templates, reporting and process improvement
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of portfolio and/or program management and delivery methodologies, including experience in supporting the delivery of projects and initiatives
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers and management both verbally and in writing, and to provide internal consultancy relating

Preferred

  • 3+ years' experience
  • Certifications - Prince 2, Managing Successful Programs (MSP) highly regarded
  • Previous project analyst experience
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
