If you have a background in Social Sciences and/or Allied Health and care about people we would love to talk to you. Australians diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer face unique challenges and our patient care team is passionate about helping and guiding them as they live through their cancer experience.

To join our Patient Care Team, you will need to be a natural problem solver who has patience and may have experience in navigating the patient journey.

You must be creative in finding solutions and understand the importance of good quality evidence-based information. Building relationships comes naturally and you may have health promotion experience to share with the team.

Ideally you have a tertiary social science qualification in either sociology or psychology; or another allied health discipline. You've had experience in the not-for-profit sector, preferably in the health support space and you're comfortable with medical terminology.

You have your own car and are prepared to travel between Bowral and Sydney or Canberra, as well as local regional areas. Occasional interstate travel will be required also. The position is based in RCA head office in Bowral, NSW.

Rare Cancers Australia is dedicated to improving awareness, support and treatment for Australians diagnosed with rare and less common cancers. We work tirelessly to ensure patients can both better understand their disease and readily meet and communicate with others experiencing similar challenges. We advocate for the best treatments in the world to be available and affordable to rare cancer patients, assisting people with meeting the costs of treatment, and raising awareness with both the public and medical profession to improve patient outcomes.
