Our client is seeking an experienced Optimization Specialist to join their PaaS team. The team is responsible for assisting the smooth operation of Public Cloud platforms by providing guidance on the financial aspects and behaviours associated with Public Cloud from a cost management perspective.
The role:
- Tune architecture and apps to be more effective
- Assisting the company (apps and platform teams) save money on cloud spend
- Shut down cloud resources when not being used
- Scripts, capability to spin down activities
- Manage multiple cloud vendors
- AWS coding with the apps teams
- Scale on demand / Optimise on demand
The candidate:
- Cloud Engineer backgrounds or Optimisation / transparency experience considered
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure and Google - AWS highly desirable
- Understand basic metrics and architecture of apps
- Senior role however someone hands on / coding is required
- Terraform or Cloud formation - Terraform highly desirable
- Effecting change in business processes
- Extensive experience in a large enterprise environment.
- Hands on experience with cloud technologies
- AWS platform automation skills
- Could have used cloud management tool such as Cloud health, Trusted Advisor, Cloud Conformity
Highly desirable
- Exposure to different cloud providers
- Exposure to accounting principles
- Experience working in a matrix organisation, managing senior stakeholders (Company and Vendors)
- Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience managing and interacting with customers/stakeholders, delivering improvements to customer experience
- Knowledge of IT industry trends and technological advances in Cloud
- Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and services
