Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Network/System Administrator to assist with the management and administration of the Client's networks and ICT systems in an integrated and evolving environment, including associated systems, networks, peripherals, data storage and backup services.
This is a 6-month contract located at the Client's Canberra location. The position requires Australian citizenship without any Clearance requirements and would be a great opportunity to start working in the government.
Our ideal candidate will be expected to perform following:
- Work as part of a small team to provide a high-quality client focused ICT environment;
- Provide the provision of level 2 and 3 support to ICT systems (at the administrator level);
- Provide the provision of level 2 and 3 support for the AIHW networks (at the administrator level);
- Maintain the corporate infrastructure, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis;
- Support and maintain corporate systems, associated software and hardware including backup and recovery services;
- Maintain clear and up-to-date system and software documentation, and procedures; and
- Assist with ICT infrastructure project, support and upgrade as required.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Demonstrated experience triaging and troubleshooting technical issues in complex IT environments.
- Experience managing and responding to ICT incidents/outages.
- 3 + years' experience managing Active Directory, group policy and DNS
- Well-developed organisational skills including the ability to determine priorities, develop strategies, procedures, and work practices.
- Ability to establish productive working relationships including the ability to work closely with a range of stakeholder such as architects, developers, and administrators.
- Demonstrated experience in all or most of the following: Network Administration (mandatory) Windows system management (mandatory), VMware (mandatory), Fortinet Firewalls (mandatory) Backup administration (mandatory).
It is desirable if you have:
- Demonstrated experience in all or most of the following: Nutanix, Networking, M365 / Cloud services, Storage technologies, ICT security.
