Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their support services team. The team is responsible for both project and maintenance work, with the aim of supporting the company's many clients. Although the role is with a telecommunications manufaturer, the role is focused around IT based networking, not digital radio.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Primarily IT based networking routers, switches, servers
- Work under a services manager in a strong team
- Perform high level support during implementation, upgrading and maintenance of systems
- Provide leadership to other Support Services Group personnel
- Assist in the development of work estimates and quotations
- Provide customer interface regarding resolution of System issues
- Provide high level support and resolution of customer issues in an agreed timeframe
- Participate in an On-Call roster (only very occasionally with OT paid)
- 90% computer work, onsite with customers clients
Skills Required:
- IT based networking experience - routers, switches, servers
- VMware
- Windows based software - reinstall on operating system, wipe clean, reimaging computers
- Wide range of communications products and systems including system installation, commissioning, system fault-finding and exposure to customer issues thereby achieving Total Customer Satisfaction
It would also be desirable to have the below however not essential:
- High-level experience in a field of electronics or systems and implementation (eg data communications, antenna site design, wide-area systems)
- RF experience as you may get a chance to help out on radio networks but not essential
