Looking for a JavaScript Developer in Canberra for a contractual role.

Location: Canberra

Contract: 12 months + extension of 2x12 months

Clearance: Baseline or ability to gain

Selection Criteria:

Mandatory Criteria:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience working with JavaScript technologies;
  • Experience with designing, developing, supporting and maintaining capabilities in large complex ICT environments;
  • Extensive technical expertise as a senior developer working in production environments and projects with waterfall or agile methodologies;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly gain knowledge of other open source and COTS products/technologies;
  • Demonstrated analysis, design and development skills;
  • Ability to work as a member of a development team and with business areas;
  • Ability to work autonomously and to provide technical expertise;
  • Good understanding of SDLC, release management, ICT change management and software development processes;
  • Proven experience with prioritising, scheduling, monitoring and reporting;
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills;
  • Experience with building and maintaining effective relationships;
  • Ability to deal with complex situations under pressure;
  • Possess effective conflict resolution skills;

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment;
  • Experience with other technologies and tools such as:
  • Web Services (SOAP-based and RESTful);
  • React, Angular or Vue.js;
  • Typescript;
  • MobX/Redux/Flux or any Javascript MVC frameworks (such as Backbone.js);
  • Webpack;
  • js (Express or Restify);
  • DBMS experience including Oracle, MySQL, Postgres;
  • Participation in Agile development teams;
  • Experience in leading ICT teams and/or mentoring ICT resources;
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members to work collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes;
  • Knowledge of the Department's policies, systems, environments, SDLC, change management, release management and software configuration processes;
  • Knowledge of the accessibility, usability standards including WCAG, WAI-ARIA and Semantic HTML.
