Our Federal Government Client is looking to engage an experienced and detail-oriented Java Developer for a long-term contract opportunity. This is an initial contract of 12-months, with a 12-month extension option and is working in Canberra's south. Within this role you will be responsible for developing code for integral projects, that contribute to Federal Government operations and to the day-to-day for Australian Citizens.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Java Development with a proven track record of delivering high quality application deliverables
- Java Development experience with integrated multi-tier application architectures
- Strong experience in front-end technologies (JSP, JQuery and JavaScript), Spring, IBM DB2, Web service standards and JMS
- Experience with web-based transaction systems and able to work with minimal direction while maintaining high productivity
- Sound communication, negotiation and liaison skills with an ability to communicate with varying levels of Stakeholders
