The Role

An IT Infrastructure Manager to manage all aspects of the organisation's IT infrastructure systems including Systems and Network Administration, server commission, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades (firmware and patch management)

The ideal candidate will be someone who is hands-on, confident and a strategic thinker an SME in their field

Key Responsibilities

  • Microsoft environment - Server 2008-2019, Very Strong in Virtualization architectures VMWare, Office 365, Azure, ADFS, Windows OS, strong Active Directory, Group Policy and ideally PowerShell skills, Patch management and upgrades
  • Strong Security focus, experience with AV technologies (Bitdefender is favorable), review and guide security awareness training, experience in email gateway's such as mimecast, able to conduct audits and implement findings, strong understand of FortiGate firewalls, Meraki and Cisco Switching
  • Strong experience with storage systems and SAN networks with multi-site replication, iScsi and SAN Switching highly desired,
  • Maintaining HP hardware infrastructure
  • Maintaining DR site with exposure to Vmware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) is favourable
  • Skills include experience working with MS SQL
  • Ability to work with both Unix and Windows networking
  • Monitoring network performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with third party consultants on network architecture
  • Solid understanding of routing protocol operation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, TCPIP, DNS, DHCP, VLANS
  • Solid understanding of security compliance including securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies
  • Domain management including MX records, renewals etc
  • Advanced knowledge in systems infrastructure, networking, monitoring, and supporting tools
  • Escalation and resolution of level 3 support issues
  • Maintain Backup strategy and resolve issues
  • Experience managing both Windows and Mac desktop hardware and software
  • Designing and implementation of new solutions and improving the current environment
  • Project Management
  • Able to mentor and guide junior helpdesk colleagues

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior role
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Suitable Qualifications and a degree in IT, eg. VMWare Certification, MSCE,
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting techniques, attention to detail, initiative, accountability and a sense of ownership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in systems infrastructure, networking, monitoring and supporting tools
  • Keeping up-to-date with infrastructure technologies and trends within the industry
  • Ability to priorities tasks and manage workload
  • Available after hours and weekends as required to maintain uptime on infrastructure
  • Ability to work collaboratively, as part of a team
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver initiatives on time and on budget
