Role - Infrastructure Engineer (IBM Message Queue)
Contract through till June 23 + a possible 12-month extension

About the role
Our client needs an experienced IBM Message Queue engineer to support, build and instal WMB/IIB. Must have Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance.
Responsibilities
- Build & install app connect enterprise, Support WMB/IIB.
- Apply patches, fixes, upgrades and conduct performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot routine product issues independently.
- Continuously evaluate IBM MQ & WebSphere Message Broker/IIB infrastructure components to ensure software currency and system stability.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes increasing efficiency.
- Create operational procedures and design documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the environment.
- Experience with Python and Ansible.
- Analyse problems and derive long term solutions and/or workarounds.
- Develop and maintain formal procedures for consistency and increased productivity.
- Perform and manage corrective actions related to production support function (e.g. monitoring queues, monitoring business application performance).
- Resolve escalated problems.
- Ensure provided solutions are documented as required in the known error database.
- Manage the prioritisation of support issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Be responsible for implementing solutions, workaround or request for change.
- Continuously work to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the support service.
- Other Ad-hoc duties as required.
- Some roles will be subject to working in a roster supporting critical systems 24/7.
Skills and experience
Mandatory
- Experience in system administration in IBM Message.
- Required Personnel must hold a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance.
Desirable
- Experience in system administration in IBM Message Queue.
- Knowledge of Automation using Shell Script, Ansible, Python.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as code.
