Title: IT Systems Analyst

Responsibilities
* Creates systems design documentation that clearly articulates the design intent, user experience, systems and business processes, issues and risks to achieve business outcomes
* Design solution artefacts or cloud native and tools and products within the data and analytics eco-system
* Provide advice and analysis support using IT cloud services and products to resolve change requests, defects, risks and issues
* Are familiar with a variety of programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms.
* Conduct cost analysis, design considerations, staff impact amelioration, and implementation timelines
* Initiate negotiations with stakeholders during the design, delivery phase of business change; to understand system requirements and leverage expertise to resolve complex issues
* Develop system or process improvements and formulate recommendations for solutions that meet operational needs and deliver improvements
* Ensure that design artefacts comply with the Agency corporate project management and governance, data and security policies, the Agency design, systems development and maintenance methodologies
* Provide quality assurance peer reviews to ensure that designs meet standards and business or architectural solutions
* Translate feature documentation, architectural and solution designs into technical design artifacts that create reusable patterns to be applied within the data and analytics applications
* Participate in agile ceremonies and provide input into breakdown of stories within features and identify tasks
* Assist in planning, prioritisation and readiness of features for commitment prior to delivery
* Provide business knowledge transfer sessions, design presentations or team demonstrations for stakeholders
* Ensure work management processes are maintained with Team Foundation Server (TFS)
* Participate in tech bridges for issue/bug resolution as required
* Work with enabling teams external to the program to design system integration for data and analytics solutions
* Responsible for owning and managing workloads and completing tasks on time and
* Exercises judgment to provide detailed technical, profession and/or policy advise in relation to complex problems
* Contribute to test scenario identification and test plans to ensure meets business requirements and solution intent
* Share knowledge and experience with peers and internal and external contacts and adapts communication still to accommodate different audiences
* Coach and mentor others in analysis/ design techniques


Skills and experience
Knowledge or experience in working with Azure/ ASW cloud native services as well as big data/analytics platforms (eg. Teradata Data Warehouse and/or Cloudera Hadoop),
* Proficiency in Agile project delivery methodology is required.
* Data modelling: highly desirable
* Apache Hadoop: desirable but not essential
* Amazon Web Services (AWS): essential
* Redshift: Highly desirable
* Azure Cloud services -desirable
* Big data analytics: desirable
* Software development life cycle: essential
* Team Foundation Server (TFS) - desirable.
* Viso - desirable
* Power point - desirable
