Experienced ICT Financial Analyst required for an initialcontract through to June 2022, with large Government department. This role involves working closely with the Project Manager to undertake forensic financial analysis required to assist in the development of the detailed business case. You will also be required to support the development of and/or input to the proposed Budget Review Committee submission.


Within this role you will be responsible for:

  • Complete comprehensive financial analysis into the departments historical and actual expenditure on computer-aided dispatch and inter-related systems and technologies as defined within the project's scope.

  • Conduct pricing calculations and analysis, developing complex pricing models and advising on pricing best practice.

  • Financial modelling and consulting on the costing of ICT projects and systems implementation.

  • Providing strategic financial advice to the Project Board on their return of investment from the proposed ICT investment.

  • Provide a Draft and Final Financial Investigation Report including qualitative and quantitative analysis, findings, and recommendations from the above investigation.

  • Provide all financial and budget estimate inputs into the Detailed Business Case.

  • Analyse, interrogate, and evaluate financial responses (from respondents) resulting from market engagement submissions.

  • Support Whole of Government and departments Financial and Procurement best practise and objectives by providing project related financial data and information as required.

  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks, assumptions, issues, and decisions (RAID).



To be successful in this role you must have:

  • At least 5 years + experience working in a and ICT environment focusing on financial management and business analysis.

  • Proven technical and financial investigating resulting in comprehensive analytical reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to research and analyse financial and factual issues and prepare quality advice within tight timeframes Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

  • Proven understanding of financial management practices within Queensland Government and the use of financial applications including SAP.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and a proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience of Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365 and excel modelling

  • Ability to work independently and with others

  • The following are also highly advantageous:

    • Must possess a degree in Commerce, Business or Accounting from a recognised tertiary institution
    • CA or CPA qualifications are highly desirable.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification or equivalent
    • Member of, or eligible to become a member of, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia.
