The Role…

Lead the Data Strategy:

  • to provide timely insight to support the business and strategy
  • to protect the business through good data governance, security measures and data risk management to support future opportunities and integrations
  • Create a linkage between the business, technology and corporate functions underpinned by data.
  • Collaborate with IT in developing data-centric technologies that support revenue generation, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and improvement in client delivery
  • Identify and embed data-related best practices and introduce stronger data governance and rules around shared/enterprise reference data

Key competencies

  • Have a proven track record of building organisational capacity to integrate data into decision-making, and the capacity to analyse existing systems by engaging staff and lead to process improvements
  • Candidates will need to demonstrate strong technical competency, intimate understanding of data warehouse, SQL and advanced in stored procedure, and have critical thinking skills to analyse, interpret data to support decision making
  • Strong relationship and communication skills - both internally and externally
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to understand business concepts and translate them in to easily understood business intelligence formats

Experience required:

  • Experience in data technology and management, change and delivery, data visualisation
  • Industry experience within Investment Manager, Superannuation, Banking, Insurance, Asset Management or Consulting experience in one of these industries
  • Deep expertise in data technology & architecture
  • Significant data management, analytics and business intelligence experience vital
  • Ideally exposed to the Superannuation, Managed Funds, Financial Services, Insurance industries and will be responsible for supporting and developing of the BI & Data Warehouse solution.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, education with data related coursework or another equivalent field; an advanced degree in any of these, or related fields is preferred
  • At least five years of related leadership and management experience
