The client:
Our client is seeking an experienced Front End UI developer to join their software development team. The team is responsible for building the company's web and desktop applications. The project currently being worked on involves developing GIS platforms to assist both customers and employees better interact with the company about mapping information.
What you'll be doing:
- Front End Development
- Perform complex design, coding and testing of spatial applications using cutting edge technology
- Translate project requirements into rich interactive web user experiences
- Develop Web-mapping services and desktop GIS applications
- Geospatial analysis and production of high-quality cartographic products using open-source GIS
What you'll need:
- Strong Front End Development skills in Python, SQL, PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Exposure to open source GIS technology, like QGIS, OGR, MapBox, GeoServer, and TileMill
- Expertise with open-source relational spatial database management systems e.g. PostGIS
- Design thinking, graphic design and user experience design
- Amazon Web Services platform
- 3 years* of experience as a GIS Developer - preferred
- 2+ years* of industry experience in UX/UI development - Preferred
