Our Federal Government Client is seeking an Enterprise Architect to work closely with their Director of Strategy & Architecture, Chief Architect and Chief Technology Officer to create technology roadmaps for a given portfolio, that align organisational plans with emerging technology solution.
This is a long-term initial contract until 30 September 2023 with 1x12-month extension option, located at our Client's Canberra location. The role requires to have the flexibility to be in the office at least 2-3 days a week. The work from home arrangement will be discussed with the Business Area. Candidates must have active Baseline Clearance to qualify for this role.
As the selected candidate, you will be expected to do the following:
- Lead at the portfolio level to facilitate an agreed enterprise vision and strategy for a given portfolio of work.
- Work closely with the Director of Enterprise Architecture and the Chief Enterprise Architect to create technology roadmaps for a given portfolio, that align organisational plans with emerging technology solutions.
- Plan and lead the assessment of new and emerging technologies, and evaluates their potential impacts, threats, and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Executive group to drive and influence organisational change and assess risk associated to the given portfolio.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the SAFe 5/agile delivery frameworks.
- Collaborate with architects and subject matter experts across a range of fields, to develop contemporary solutions, and to define enterprise-wide reference architectures in line with the Department's strategies.
- Work closely with the Lead Solution Architect to provide program- and project-level advice for solution architects.
- Manage a small team of solution architects to ensure program delivery
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Minimum 8 years of experience working as an Enterprise Architect across complex IT environments.
- Successful design of large-scale contemporary infrastructure and technology environments.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder management and engagement, with ability to influence and support adoption of recommendations, models, and approaches.
- Demonstrated application of formal enterprise architecture models and practices.
- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating with colleagues and stakeholders including architects, technical staff, vendors, business analysts and business managers and senior executive.
- Demonstrated experience translating and summarising technical concepts, finding the right balance between abstracting details without losing the key message.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, presentation and written communication of architecture views, solution options, costs, risks & constraints to stakeholders.
It is desirable if you have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens who have the ability to obtain Federal Government Security Clearances.
