Federal Gov agency requires a Dev Ops Engineer for a 6 month period based in Docklands.
The role will be performing the following;
- Build integrated developer tooling in AWS, with fully automated deployment and recovery methods.
- Assist the first software teams to adopt the new way of working.
- Setup the local build of Python Conda libraries, and automate the creation and deployment of Conda environments.

- To be successful in this role the candidate must demonstrate experience for the following duties:
- Build of immutable infrastructure in AWS
- Build and use of CI tooling, preferably gitlab-CI. Jenkins etc is acceptable. Integrated with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Build linting and scanning tooling instances in AWS (e.g. Code Climate, Codacy), integrated to Gitlab.
- Keeping the project Technical Lead informed of key issues and need for escalation.
- Be available to work on site at Bureau of Meteorology head office located at 700 Collins Street
- Exposure to the following would be an advantage:
- The ability to teach developers in group and individual settings
- Integration of open-source library vulnerability management, eg BlackDuck.
Experience in the following is required;
- Build of immutable infrastructure in AWS
- Build and use of CI tooling, preferably gitlab-CI. Jenkins etc is acceptance. Integrated with Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Build linting and scanning tooling instances in AWS (eg Code Climate, Codacy), integrated to Gitlab.
- The ability to teach developers in group and individual settings (optional)
- Integration of open-source library vulnerability management eg BlackDuck (Optional)
