We are seeking a Database Lead for our client based in Eight Mile Plains. This will be a permanent opportunity, ideally with an immediate start.
The Organisation:
Our client is the world's leading Geo-data specialist, collecting and analysing comprehensive information about the Earth and the structures built upon it. Through integrated data acquisition, analysis and advice, they unlock insights from Geo-data to help their clients design, build and operate their assets in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.
The Role:
- Ensure maintanence of focus for continous running of Operations, database developments and forward thinking for data scalability and resource planning
- Work towards a cohesive working environment with all other departments
- Provide transperancy to upper management
- This role collaborates with the Global Service Line - Power, internal and external service providers (e.g. Onshore and Offshore data processors and PMs)
Key Result Areas:
- Ensure complete database optimum health
- Develop and maintain existing processes to ensure the team is proactive at identifying and dealing with issues.
- Maintain all ETL processes
- Ensure all transactions between software and teh database are optimal
- Maintain excellent security - carry out reoccuring security tests to maintain this
- Develop regular BackUp testing
- Develop automated AWS Snapshot backups
- Have regular discussions with all teams in the RIC - this will help to identify real business critical issues
- Keep up to date with SQL Server technologies.
- Lead and mentor staff on agile and modern ways of working
- Oversight and allocation of work for client onboarding, bug fixes, database adminstration and database enhancements
- Provactively monitor all database team members
The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree in Computer Science area is preferable
- Microsoft SQL Server qualifications
- Project Management or agile certification woudl be beneficial
- Must be a proficient and technical DBA, with at least 10 years of experience
- Must have AWS experience
- Must have some software experience to ensure understandng of how software interracts with the database
- Ability to prioritise resources and team work load
- Motivate, mentor and coach team
