Our Government client is seeking an experienced 2 x Data Analyst / Business Analyst to join their Insights Platform Program and assist in the development of foundation definitions of the Master Data Assets.
The initial contract engagement until June 2023 with potential 12 month contract extension. Based in Brisbane CBD our client offers 2 days WFH per week.
Responsibilities
- Consult with stakeholders and analyse existing data schemas to establish the foundation definitions of Master Data Assets:
- Analyse and document Business Entities as Data Assets, including all data elements and their associated synonyms, lineage, business rules.
- Gather requirements for business processes to inform Data Dictionary and Meta Data Library, providing further detail for each data element in the Master Data.
- Document Business Glossary, to define Master Data in common, business language and associated business processes.
- Identify and problem solve issues/inefficiencies in current state source data
- Assist in preparing requirements documentation for a master data management solution within a contemporary enterprise data platform.
- Document current state and target state business processes.
- Document data transformation rules and data cleansing rules.
Skills and experience
This role will suit individuals that have:
- Experience operating within large and complex ICT programs of work.
- Previous experience working as a Senior Business Analyst on a large Business Analytics and Data Platform Program or equivalent is necessary.
- Strong understanding of contemporary data/business intelligence technologies and approaches and the supporting enterprise-level data governance/management required
- In-depth experience working as a Business Analyst in the data and analytics field.
- Ability to document source data and identify issues/inefficiencies in current state
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with business staff to help manage the decision-making process to define data definitions, including master data and master data management requirements.
- Knowledge of data platform and data modelling principles and schema
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Data Governance concepts including Privacy and Security considerations
