The role being advertised is for the client's Data Centre Automation project. The Data Centre Sub Program has been initiated to plan, design and migrate all applications out of our current data centre facility. The program will be delivered in following phases:

* Discovery
* Planning and Design
* Migration and Implementation
* Closure

The program was stood up to take advantage of the opportunity to retain the client's use of ECDC and uplift the infrastructure. This offers many of the benefits of a Data Centre migration but reduces complexity and risk in the migration while modernising the platform. We aim to automate deployments and builds through orchestration where possible across the environment.

The Data Centre Automation Project is enabling automation of high value application processes that will benefit the deployment of DC components and applications. The project's vision is to establish a modern IT Infrastructure platform to support the technology roadmap over the next decade.

In addition to moving some applications from one data centre to another, there are some applications that are suitable for deployment into the Cloud via the use of cloud services provided by, for example, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). These migrations can happen progressively and alleviate pressure on any Data Centre migration i.e. reduction of footprint.
