The Role

Work as part of a team that provides design, development, implementation and support for all ICT infrastructure and the Windows 10 operating environment.

The departments infrastructure consists primarily of Microsoft platforms and applications, with Cisco/Meraki network switching, built upon a Nutanix Hyperconverged Cluster.

They also utilise Microsoft's Azure cloud and this position will require an understanding of the Azure cloud service environment and its offerings

Role Responsibilities

You will be part of a small team of motivated and dedicated technical professionals. You will be expected to utilise your technical skills in maintaining:

  • Work closely with our IT Operation Team in the day-to-day management of our server and network infrastructure including management of our:
    • Microsoft 365 tenancy and VOIP services
    • Windows Server fleet running on hyperconverged infrastructure and legacy servers
    • Storage Area Networks
    • Windows desktop fleet, predominately running on laptop devices
    • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments
    • Network devices, including a secure gateway
  • Working alongside other members of the team to help proactively identify, diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Provide high level technical support to staff via our Help Desk portal
  • Be an escalation point and mentor to our first level desktop support staff
  • Assist with the creation of technical documentation

Required Skills & Experience

As a member of a small infrastructure team, you will be familiar with, and be able to manage, a diverse range of products and technologies, largely in the Microsoft stack. We are looking for someone who has:

  • Extensive experience implementing and maintaining Microsoft enterprise software (PowerShell, System Centre Configuration Manager)
  • Strong experience in hyperconvergence infrastructure, server hardware and storage area networks
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in networking technology
  • Knowledge of IT security practices including the ability to mitigate cyber security incidents
  • Proficiency in process and procedural document creation
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
