This mid-sized (but growing) product engineering company is looking for an experienced IT professional to help shape and drive their IT and Cyber Security strategy.
Due to the nature of the work, Australian citizenship is required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage the day to day IT across the company, as well as managing a small IT team.
- Design and maintain resilient infrastructure: Oversee our environments, enterprise networks, and internal systems, balancing agility, performance, and security.
- Manage, but also evolve Cyber Security across the business. This includes developing their cyber strategy, including threat detection, incident response and compliance (ISO 27001, ISO 9001, DISP, etc.).
- Effectively manage vendors and service providers with technical insight and commercial acumen.
- Integrate new tools and systems in a way that enhances not hinders team workflows.
- Stay hands-on: Whether it's fixing a VPN, deploying new hardware, or running a tabletop cyber exercise, you’re not afraid to get involved.
- Bridge the gap between product and IT. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to understand how their products function, ensuring IT systems and networks are bulletproof and built to scale.
- Support Defence and secure environments. You will understand Defence customers expect, including DISP compliance and associated controls.
Skills and Experience required:
- Ideally, you will have experience in a product-driven company, working alongside R&D and delivery teams to ensure IT infrastructure supports real-world deployments.
- A strong track record delivering and supporting enterprise IT in complex environments preferably with a mix of SaaS, cloud-native systems, and edge deployments.
- Deep understanding of cyber security best practices and frameworks: risk management, incident response, and compliance with standards like ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and DISP.
- Familiarity with the connectivity stack whether that’s telecom, wireless protocols, satellite networks, or large-scale data transfer environments.
- You will be a strategic thinker, who has a track record of designing and implementing robust and scalable IT and Cyber strategies, but the ability to roll up your sleeves when needed and still retain some of that can-do, hands on abilities.
- A deeply curious mindset, with a collaborative approach, but with a bias toward action and improvement.
