Data Analyst
Immediate requirement for a Data Analyst for an initial 6-month contract to join this leading financial institute.
Role
Provide analytics support to frontline sales segments, strategy and product teams.Support the Manager, Business Analytics and Optimisation to manage relationships with various stakeholders and promote a data driven decision making culture aligning to business priorities
Perform complex behavioural and descriptive analysis/segmentation to identify opportunities and produce insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Work closely with Frontline Sales teams, strategy, product and to identify/recommend potential target markets thru advanced data mining, segmentation and market research
- Complete analytics & ad-hoc requests providing unique actionable insights on strategic and tactical business and productivity initiatives
- Identify and define opportunities or problems, and develop hypotheses within business context
- Select the most appropriate analytic frameworks, tools and data to test hypotheses
- Enrich collected data from multiple data sources and turn it into insightful information
- Generate insights and present actionable recommendations to the Business, in person or via self-designed/developed dashboards or tools
Experience
- Sound data management experience
- Sound communication skills
- Ability to generate insights and present solutions/recommendations to a variety of stakeholders with varying technical capabilities
- Sound SQL (Teradata and SQL Server) and Visualisation (Tableau) experience
- Knowledge of Excel VBA
- Exposure to large complex data environments (e.g. Finance, Telecommunications)
- Exposure to Big Data environments (Hadoop) desirable
- Digital experience
- Statistical Modelling skills (SAS or R) desirable
