Directors Bios


David W. Benn

BA MBA FAICD, Non-Executive Chairman

Joining the Board in April 2005 and a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees, David brings wide governance and relevant industry experience to Peoplebank Australia Limited. He held leadership positions in international banking and finance in the US and Australia for 24 years, followed by 13 years in the senior executive search field, and is currently a company director and occasional strategic HR consultant.


Since retiring from a Managing Partner role in Korn/Ferry International, he has been Chairman of the Advisory Boards of Crescendo Partners focused on strategic consulting, market research company, Arnold + Bolingbroke, management succession planning company, Talint II, and on the Board of NRMA Funds Management.


Long active in community and charitable organisations, he is currently Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Australia, and immediate past Chairman of the Fulbright Commission.


Leon S. Lau

BSc MAICD, Managing Director

Leon began Peoplebank in 1990 and has seen it grow to a $500m+ revenue company. He has led the company from a small private company through a number of acquisitions and a public listing in July 2005 to the company it is today, Australia’s largest IT & T Recruitment and Contracting Company.


Leon has 24 years experience in the IT&T contracting and recruitment sector and is currently a Board member of ITCRA (Information Technology Contracting and Recruitment Association), the industry body representing the IT & T Recruitment and Contracting sector.

 


David T. Armstrong

BEc FCA FCPA, Non-Executive Director

David’s close involvement with Peoplebank Australia Limited as their external accountant and adviser began shortly after the company’s foundation. His appointment to the Board in 2000 preceded the significant and strategic expansion of Peoplebank Australia Limited.


David is the senior principal in a Chartered Accounting practice and has over 25 years experience at a significant level in taxation, structuring, acquisitions, business and financial services as well as people management.


He continues to hold various unlisted company directorships and committee memberships as well as having had previous involvement on panels with the ICAA.


David also chairs the Audit Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee.

 

Don Easter

B.Sc (Computing) Hon.I, M.Sc.(Management), MAICD, Non-Executive Director

Don brings Peoplebank Australia Limited a wealth of knowledge gained through his career as a highly accomplished senior financial industry and technology sector executive with experience in complex multi-national listed corporations and mid-sized commercial enterprises across a diverse range of industries around the globe.


This has been gained through his time spent with EDS Australia, ABN AMRO, Westpac Banking Corporation and running his own consulting services business in Europe and Australia. Don is currently also an executive at Allomak (ASX: AMA).
Joining the Board in November 2005, Don chairs the Remuneration Committee and is also a member of the Audit Committee.

Rodney C. Muse

B.Sc (Computing) Hon.I, M.Sc.(Management), MAICD, Non-Executive Director

Rodney is one of the three founders of Navis Capital Partners.


Prior to co-founding Navis, Rodney was Managing Director of Elspan Technologies Limited, a Hong Kong based construction technology firm of which he was a shareholder after spending 3 years with The Boston Consulting Group from 1993 to 1996 in Sydney and Kuala Lumpur. He started his career with Chase Manhattan Bank in 1985.


Rodney holds a BA Hons degree from St. Lawrence University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Thomas Beecroft

BSc, BBA Hon.I, MBA, Non-Executive Director

Tom is a Director of Navis Capital Partners based in Sydney. He holds a BSc and BBA (Hons) from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Tom Beecroft was raised and educated in the United States and has resided in Australia for the last 13 years.


Tom started his private equity career in the US in 1984. In 1992 he became Executive Vice President of Quail Pipe Corporation in Dallas, then in 1995 Managing Director of Pacific Pipeliners in Sydney. After the sale of his business in 2000, he spent the next five years in private equity with Nanyang Ventures in Sydney. He has been a director of over 25 companies in various industries including manufacturing, industrial services, and financial services. With Navis, he focuses on investment opportunities in Australia/NZ while providing support to Navis teams working in Asia.
