Stephanie Christopher, national director of SHL Australia New Zealand, a company which assists companies — including recruitment firms — in their recruitment activities, says that for the more technical positions HR has to fill, “it would lean toward the line manager for advice; it would be the line manager who would have final say”.

Remote Lands
We’re Day 4 of our stint in the C4Smile project, and we’ve so far been through Kununurra, Warmun, Halls Creek and tonight, at Fitzroy Crossing.
We’ve so far, had two breakfasts, one of which was three course, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner (plus the odd drink, free from prohibition).

Today I drove the support van behind the peloton. It was a great day driving from 5.30am to 4.30pm at 35km’s an hour.
The road was winding with long stretches of straight road.

GLOBAL economic turmoil has heightened caution in Australia, with recruiters warning that new IT projects could be deferred.
While many recruiters and technology chiefs expect hiring to remain steady until the end of the year, market uncertainty is top of mind.
