The two Williams’ arrive!
It’s not Venus and Serena and we aren’t sisters..but hey we are going to play this game and help these boys to win!!
It’s been an adventure already…almost a little “Amazing Race” style….Jumping on a plane, get to check point A, get to the hotel, eat, drink, wake up at 4am, get back to the airport jump on a plane, fly to Mackay, get a hire car, drive into Central Mackay, get a phone call jump back in the car ad drive to Sarina caravan park…all in less than 24 hours…and we have only just joined the Cycle for Smile team!! Who knows what is install for the next 5 days!We met up with Tanya from Melbourne PB and Peter (One of the Cyclist’s dad, who is a total champion) and before you know it Lisa and I were in the deep end and dare I say we were swimming…we put up our first tent in under 7 minutes!! We had about 2 hours setting up and learning the ropes before the boys rode in… and then the fun began…we were made to feel like part of the team from the get go! There was laughter, fun, food, massages…the first night so far has been great!
The boys are all smiles and laughs even after riding 245kms!! But slowly one by one they are off to bed, we will clean up and hit the hay as well (well Lisa and I have been up since 4am!!) So I’ll sign off now and chat again tomorrow!!
