Peoplebank names Peter Acheson as CEO
Peoplebank Australia Ltd today announces that it has taken the next step in its succession planning process by appointing Peter Acheson to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Mr Acheson, who was previously the company’s Chief Operating Officer, will continue to work directly with Managing Director, Leon Lau, and will assume greater responsibility for Peoplebank’s strategic direction and performance.
Mr Acheson was the CEO of Ambit Recruitment from 2004 until its acquisition in 2008 by Peoplebank. Subsequent to the merger, and as part of a succession plan established that year, Mr Acheson served as COO of Peoplebank until his promotion this month. Mr Acheson will continue to hold COO responsibilities in his new role.
Mr Lau described the appointment as also being a plank in Peoplebank’s strategy of building competitive advantage.
“Peter Acheson is an outstanding leader. He is widely respected across industry and within our company; and he has helped Peoplebank build relationships with corporate and government clients.
“Most recently, Peter has been instrumental in developing and articulating our commitment to building competitive advantage through superior customer service. This strategy, articulated throughout the company as The Peoplebank Promise, is a set of consistent actions and behaviours aimed at achieving the highest levels of customer service and recruitment outcomes.
“I think that The Peoplebank Promise will be our strongest source of competitive advantage in the future, and I look forward to continuing to work with Peter and all of our colleagues as we take the company to a new level of success,” Mr Lau said.
Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Acheson said, “Peoplebank is home to a talented team of people, who have accomplished a tremendous amount together over the past few years. We have a superb culture that is the foundation of The Peoplebank Promise – which, as our commitment to superior customer service, will be the core of our continued growth in the coming years.
“The Peoplebank Promise is both a strategic and performance goal for our company, and I am excited to be participating in bringing it to life for our 200-plus staff members and across our national operations,” Mr Acheson concluded.
