WA could face a shortage of information technology skills as early as the middle of next year, according to IT recruiter Peoplebank.
Peoplebank’s Perth IT&T salary index shows that while most salaries for IT professionals remained flat in the three months to October 31, there was increased demand for employees.
“Demand is being driven by employers gearing up for a recovery,” Peoplebank chief operating officer Peter Acheson said.
ICT workers, skills in demand in bullish market

Australia’s now going through a period of sustained, increased demand for skilled ICT professionals and according to the largest ICT industry recruiter, Peoplebank, the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth markets, in particular, are experiencing a strong lift in demand for IT workers.
In its quarterly IT & T salary index for the period ending October, released today, Peoplebank found that there has been a consistent rise in demand for ICT contractors and permanent staff in key markets - notably Sydney, Perth and Melbourne - although it also reveals that salaries have remained largely unchanged from the previous quarter.
Big drop in tech pay in Queensland

SALARIES of technology professionals in Queensland have been slashed since September last year, in some instances by more than 30 per cent, data shows.
Research from Australia’s largest IT recruiter, Peoplebank, shows Brisbane-based senior technology directors went from an average salary of $305,000 in September last year to $200,000 in October this year, a fall of about one third.







Recruiter streamlines administration with software as a service

AUSTRALIA’S largest IT&T recruiter, Peoplebank, is using a software-as-a-service-based front-office applicant tracking platform from US firm Bullhorn.
Bullhorn’s staffing and recruiting software will manage Peoplebank’s front-office activities and integrate them into its back-office system.
